The MTB Kit is built for the trail, featuring high-powered LED lights for both your helmet and handlebars. Designed to handle any off-road adventure, it’s the top choice for mountain bikers and adventure racers worldwide.
Dual Light Power. Maximum Versatility.
This high-performance lighting kit features two high-powered LED lights, each available in any of our 12 vibrant colours. Outfitted with narrow optics, these lights deliver a powerful spotlight beam with exceptional throw—ideal for riders who demand long-distance visibility and precision.
We’ve optimized our narrow beam to outperform both our previous Narrow and Intermediate optics, providing a broader and more focused beam for enhanced clarity on the trail or road. Independently rotatable light casings let you fine-tune your lighting setup, whether you’re spotlighting the trail ahead or illuminating your immediate surroundings.
Both the lights and the newly designed SLB-01 rechargeable batteries are lightweight, waterproof, and engineered for performance in all conditions. Each battery includes three power levels (100%, 60%, 30%), a flashing mode, and a fuel gauge to keep you informed mid-ride.
Battery Burn Times:
-
High (100%) – Up to 2 hours
-
Medium (60%) – 3.5 – 4 hours

Just wanted to drop a quick note thanking you for a great product. It is winter here in Mississippi, USA and that means MTB night riding. As I charged up my lights for another season, I started wondering how long I have had these lights. I dug through old emails to find my order. It has been almost exactly 10 years since my order was shipped! (order # 42686 if you want to check it out) I have replaced no parts. The batteries are original and still work perfectly. The lights are flawless. I constantly get asked where I got my lights. I can’t believe that they are still running strong after 10 years. IF I ever need to replace my lights, I know where I will go. Super product. William
Hi, the lights arrived yesterday, impressively quick. I am looking forward to hitting the trails, I had borrowed a friends set some 15 yrs ago and was impressed and after using a few other lights over the years decided that the ayups had been the best I had used. After confirming he was still happy with his, the decision was made. I am impressed the design has stayed the same for so long, not many other 17yr old designs still on the market. Cheers Andrew C – NZ
My lights are still going strong after 9 years – ’nuff said.
I got the 2010 equivalent of this kit way back then. I used them sparingly for most of that time, including years when they sat idle. When my daughter started getting interested in night riding, I brought these back out and started using them again. They’re still FANTASTIC. I have no idea how the batteries have or have not degraded in that time, and I don’t time how long they last now, but it’s still plenty long enough for many night rides. Get the head torch harness too, it multiplies the usefulness of this kit. Great for working on cars, or outside after dark. I’ve made camp in the dark many times with this set.
I must have been using AY UP lights for 15 years, bought a second set about 12 years ago and they all still work perfectly. One of the older small batteries is failing but what quantity.
I bought mine in about 2012 and used for a couple of years. Awesome system. They then sat in the case for the next 9 years while I was not riding. I just fired up the legs and got back on the bike and the lights are still working like new. Worth the investment.
Bought in 2008 and 14 years on they are still going really well although two of the small batteries were stolen along with a light and harness 2014. I use them for everything. The head torch harness is an absolute must. Came here to order a new harness after all these years.
I bought my AYUP MTB set in 2008 and have been using them since. One of the original batteries required replacement after 6 years but it was the lead that failed and that was more to do with the way I routed it. The replacement battery I purchased is still going strong. The button cap on the switch of another battery was attacked by a mouse but AYUP have new caps available and they are easy to replace. Basically, if you want a light set up that is going last, buy AYUP. The after sales support and spares availability make it worth it.
Thanks Guys 12 years on,still amazing….so many crashes ..i cant believe how they have lasted ,just the mounting rubbers have started to perish..gladly buy more!
I bought the Mtb kit and I am so impressed . The build quality is exceptional and has made night time Mtb riding so much safer and more enjoyable ! Highly recommend . The lumen count may not be as high as a lot of modern lights but because of the lens quality it is actually a lot brighter than 1200 lumen lights I own . Support Australian ! Worth every dollar !
I bought a set of MTB lights in 2011 and they are still going strong today, probably not good for business building lights that last so long but many thanks AyUp!!!
Bought these lights over 13 years ago, beam pattern is quite small, but I’ve used them primarily for mtb, but also head lamp for ice climbing, and night kayaking. The batteries are phenomenal, I’ve not really looked after them as “per advised” but they still work, I now use them for riding winter trails in Norway on a fat bike with 2 huskies pulling, down to minus 20, ( moved from the Uk) the reliability is exceptional.
Hi Ayup I just ordered my second set of lights. I am still running the first set, which are still on the original battery and it still goes fine after more than a decade! The lights are also working well, you repaired them after they fell off at 40km/h bounced on the path three or four times before landing in the river (they worked after that for about 3 months before they needed attention), it is about 4-5 years since your repair. Just wanted to say well done, great lights and thanks for many years of good vision. Keep it up, love your work! Cheers John
Bought our first set of AyUps lots of years back, then a second one – “I want what she’s got”. The batteries from the original kit still going, the second ones not. Reliable, bright – use them routinely. Just logged on to get another battery – really impressed about the range of replacements available – most of which are not needed as the original gear is still working so well.
Got my first set in 2008 for Christmas for 2009 dusk2dawn. Now own 3 sets, for wife and boy. Have 3 original small batteries, one original 6 hr and got 3x 4 hour batteries about 4 years ago. Summer in qld is 10/10 for night riding. Looking forward to another summer season. Great lights, well built, maybe not as bright or cheap as eBay stuff but rugged and stood the test of time. Just need more overnight events.
I originally bought my first Ayup MTB set in 2009. LEDs were just hitting the market and I needed a setup for night rides and an upcoming 24-hour race. That 2009 set just finally died. 11 years of use. Not only biking use, running use (purchased multiple headsets so I could night run with friends), camping use, Jeep trips, car work use, etc. I have used your lights almost daily for 11 YEARS. I literally cannot believe how good your lights are and how long they lasted. It was literally a no-brainer to re-up on the AyUps. (see what i did there) I just bought a new MTB set and headband. AyUp, I’ll see in another 10 years when I have to replace the one I just bought.
Been using these lights for 12 years now, for MTB, in all the weather the UK has to offer, they are amazing and have lasted for years, still brighter than anything out there and they last, stop looking and get these, well worth every penny!
Have just pulled the beasties out after a long time still waiting for the buggers to discharge after 8 hours. Still have the blood on them from my last outing. Fantastic product.
Ive been using the Ay Up mtb lighting kit for the last 7 years now, and this is by far the best lighting kit I have ever used. however, after 7 years and loads of mtb night rides and trail running the battery packs are starting to slowly give up. These have done well to get this far 🙂 I have just emailed Ay Up to see if I can send the lighting kit back to there factory for a refurb (new batteries and LEDs fitting inside lights). Highly recommend these lights, hopefully I can get them refurbished and get back on the trails asap. Great lights, great customer service.
I have had trouble keeping the bar mounted lights stable, in really rough terrain they often started pointing upwards. I tried the provided rubber strips, slices of inner tubes, anti slip mat etc. What worked great is self amalgamating tape (3M scotch 23). Just a tiny piece between the bar and mount. The next day after removing the cable ties it almost didn’t want to come off, with slight force it came off cleanly. Another issue I had was the battery & gecko mount came off while navigating a rock garden, it stayed attached to the light and was swinging in my face, scary, so now I cable tie it on too. Otherwise, after 30 or so uses am loving the lights, so glad I got them, and thought I’d share these tips.
Hello, Just wanted to say that I’ve been using your AyUp lights for years, and years, and years!!! You guys did me a huge favour my shipping me my first pair just before I did XPD in Cairns, and I’ve never found anything better on the market in terms of product and service. You have just totally nailed it! So glad you are still doing well, still getting rave reviews and still have the best lighting products on the market by far! I’ve converted loads of people to AyUp. They are better for the experience! Thank you all! Anne
If you are questioning the Ayup mounting abilities, read on. After finally giving it a go a few times, I’ve found it works fantastic. When I first fit the light and battery to the helmet, I wasn’t convinced it was any good. I had been using some top shelf Cygolite lights for 8 years, which have a bomb proof and fool proof mounting system. I rode some pretty rough terrain and the lights were the last thing on my mind. They feel really balanced on the helmet, barely noticeable, and were in the same place I’d placed them. For the light and battery on the helmet, two feet are 100% on a dot, while the other two are sideways in a vent. It feels a little sketchy putting it on, but holds incredibly well due to the light weight. The light weight and bang-for-buck are ayup’s biggest strengths. Very very happy with the ayup mtb kit.
Bought my Ay-Ups over 9 years ago and they are bloody amazing. These things are I destructible and the batteries still work like new. A few mates have bought cheaper Chinese models on eBay but the batteries simple don’t last (which makes night riding dangerous!) And they run so hot that you can’t even touch them. My Ay-Ups don’t have any of these issues at all. They are very light weight and can be mounted on a helmet without too much bulkiness, and the ability to mount on your handlebars with one of the lights angled down and the other light slightly up is a godsend to see not only whats up ahead but also right in front of you. Would definitely buy again, and I would definitely recommend these to a friend. Kev
Got my ayups in Jan 2009. Bought my wife a roadie set in late 2008. Bad for them – our lights are still going strong. Good for me.. I have added one battery as I like redundancy and over night races. These lights are magnificent. Still the best you can buy. The old small batteries are still strong after 2 1/2 hour night rides. I don’t ride winter nights so for 3-4 months they sit on the shelf. Because of my ayups I would much rather ride at night than during the day.
Well, what can I say that hasn’t been said already about these lovely mtb lights! I’ve had mine at least 7 years, must admit they came in an odd neoprene bag, but hey, it works. Anyway, after many years of excessive use and abuse these little lights just refuse to die! They are fantastic and I’ve recommended them to all my ride partners, and more than a couple have taken my advice. Will only ever buy Ay-ups if and when my current set finally cease to work – but I don’t think they ever will !! Wonderful product, thanks.
Never have I been so impressed by a set of lights so much that I’ve gone running in the dark just to use them. I hate running. I bought the MTB kit along with a wide beam light that I occasionally use for work. the whole kit and set up is brilliant, you get a wide range of attachments for your handlebars and/or helmet. I’ve got the handlebar mounts on two bikes and the helmet mount on my MTB helmet. This way I can use one light for my daily commutes and the twin light set up for night riding on the MTB. The strong Velcro straps used to attach the batteries makes moving kit from one bike to bike really easy. I really only have one minor issue or area from improvement of such a great product. The kit provides you with Saxon caps to make a rear light. apart from reversing the battery + light set up on your helmet there is no easy or obvious way of mounting the light and battery to your stem allowing you to use one as a rear light on the bike. This would be fantastic for me on my commutes.
Never go camping with out my ay-ups . Nearly 6 years old and still going strong.
Never go camping with out my ay-ups. Nearly 10years old and still going strong.
Bought the MTB Pack 2013 Brillant have been using them for night rides, trail runs, even for work, have been out in some wet conditions and they have never missed a beat. All you need in the kit plus extra and battery’s have been working away so far. Will defo be ordering replacements when needed.
I brought two dual sets about 6 years ago for my lad and I to use mountain biking. I’ve had one small battery replaced under warranty ages back. All six batteries still work brilliantly as do the rest of the lights/kits. The quality of the whole package is of a very high standard. I use them about 5 times per week. I’m 58 yo and have spent squillions of dollars in my lifetime buying bits of everything usually aiming at decent quality and value for money. Ayup Lights are without a doubt the best bike purchase I have ever made (8 yrs of mtn and road) and as far as I can remember the best article I have purchased in my life. Well done fellas. Aussie too.
I bought the light kit back in 2012 and have not looked back. They are awesome and very handy during the UK’s short winter days. I’ve never had an issue with the lights, but I had an issue with the small battery failing (still working, but lost some of its capacity) which Ay up kindly sorted out pronto. I still cannot believe it when my friends show up for a night ride with their large clumsy lights with limited power and battery life. They are expensive but well worth it!
Ordered a set of mtb lights on Friday eve and just done my first night ride using them absolutely awesome best money I’ve spent on light highly recommend.
I bought mine in 2009 and use them for night rides after work all year except for summer when the days are long. They have been faultless for the whole 6 years and the batteries are still going strong. IF they ever die I’ll be getting another set. Don’t worry about the lumen battle between the brands, its all about having one on your head so the light is where you are looking, and one on your bars for a wider beam to pick up the terrain. It’s the combo that makes them so good. Mine are the older 400 lumen ones and they are excellent. The new 700’s must be brilliant.
I have had many lights in the past. They all failed the test in one way or another. Ayups how everyone have proven the best by far. A great light. Great attachments, great battery, amazing durability with time, rain and rough use. Indestructible. Buying a set for my kids knowing they will last!
I Have a duel set, 1 x handle bar and 1 x helmet, purchased a kit with two running head bands and extra mounts. I’m an engineer who likes cool bling tech and these give all of that plus versatility, ease of use, light weight and small compared to the competition.I use mine weekly for MTB, road riding, hiking, and for many work related jobs in dark small spaces. I looked at many lights before buying these. These are the real deal and I suggest you don’t get swayed by big lumens because that’s not what its all about and with big light you need a big battery (more weight and more cost). AyUp have considered “ideal” light output with a light battery weight coupled with good duty cycle (how long the battery will last per use). My kids have started night riding with me & the AyUp team gave me a mint deal just for extra Headlights and mounts plus battery. All is good. Thanks AyUp, highly recommended.
I’ve owned ayup lights for 6 years and they work flawlessly in all kinds of bad weather. The original batteries work well after all this time, I did buy some new ones for 24 hour mtb races. They are much lighter than most other lights! So u don’t get a sore neck with other heavier (but brighter uber lights). Great value too!! However the best thing about them is the customer service. One side of the 2battery charger stopped working. I contacted the staff at ayup and even tho it was outside of warranty they gave me a fantastic discount on a new one. Would buy them again!!
I use my Ay Ups for sled dog racing with the NSW Siberian Husky Club. Awesome lights and nothing better than running dogs at night.
I’ve been looking at buying an Ay Up MTB lighting kit for at least 3 years. Time flew by and I finally ordered and received my kit within the last week. For me real bike lights are not an optional extra and are so important whenever or wherever you use your bike at night. Everything about Ay Up kit is as good as I’d hoped. Compact, lightweight, great attention to detail in terms of design, function and longevity. Being able to order individual parts at any time (and for reasonable prices) is fantastic and the sort of business I want to sing the praises of and support. Because these lights have been intelligently designed I use them at work, when in roof spaces (as a head torch) and when walking the dog at night. It’s great to own a product that is versatile and serves more than one purpose. I will also use them when I go camping, on night time walks. Keep up the great work!
I’ve had my AyUps for about 4 years now. Helmet lights are used every day in winter for my commute and both sets regularly used on the MTB clubs weekly night ride. Cracking lights cant praise them highly enough. My set are maybe not as bright as some now given their age but they do everything I need of them. Only issue i’ve had is the fitting to my current Specialized Tactic 2 helmet due to its awkward vents not working with the AyUps feet, having to ride with the lights mounted squint wasnt good. Just ordered the new zip tie helmet mount today to rectify that issue. Great lights, great customer service.
I bought the MTB kit and it was delivered this week. It is amazing what Ay Ups can fit in such small units. I am extremely impressed with the lights and would recommend these to anyone. I ride x-country and it is suited perfectly to mountain biking. Thank you for amazing service
Purchase my first set of ay-ups 2010 and the original battery still performing good. The only lights I purchase due to their compact size and reliability.
Had the V4 for a couple of years now. Very compact, light weight with loads of beam. Can’t recommend them highs enough..the customer service is also 2nd to none. I had a bad stack after owning them for a few weeks. I called the crew from ay-up and they replaced the unit at no charge. You can’t beat that. Well done guys on a great Aussie product.
I purchased a MTB (dual kit) 4 years ago……. there still working perfectly after all this time and I use these 3 times a week. These are THE ONLY lights to buy!!!!!!
I must say, that my review is quite late as I’ve been the proud owner of the earlier kit that came in the little hardshell orange box. So I’d guesstimate owning them for 6-7 years. I’m certain the latest stuff is just as good though. The quality of product is astounding. The brightness was such, that my first use of the stuff on dark December, wet west London commuter nights, would have cars in front of me thinking I was a space ship. Later in 2009 we relocated to Verona, Italy. The local mountain club boys loved their big round clunky LED things strapped to the handlebars, while I simply attached one twin AY UP to my helmet and ended up leading all our night rides. Very confidence boosting in the pitch dark going downhill. Yes there are loads of lighting alternatives out there and you buy what you feel is right for you. But, no kidding these AY UP lights are a fabbo product that will do exactly as expected.
G’day People, I’ve been using my Ay Ups V4 Adventure kit for a few weeks now and can honestly say that they are the very best lights I have ever owned. They were obviously designed by a cyclist, as the size or light and capacity of battery have been considered. I use them on the Road Bike, the Mountain Bike and the Cyclo X. I use one pair on the handle bars and one pair on the helmet at night and this has solved a lot of issues that I’ve had with night vision. I can highly recommend these lights to all cyclists, or for anyone who needs to be able to see at night. Many thanks, Mark
I have owned and used the mountain bike kit for the past 5 years and can’t recommend them highly enough. They are still lighting up the trails and paths like when they were brand new. I have had plenty of falls and the light keep on going strong. I had one issue with the battery lead falling out on rough ground and the Ay Up fixed no charge What great customer service and produce. I have told friends that these are the light to have either on the road or trails.
I am writing to thank Ay-Up for the incredible service I have received in the past 5 days. Quite honestly I am astounded that I have received my package in such a short time, considering I am at the other side of the planet! It has been an absolute pleasure to give you this business and I will be recommending your service to all of my friends. Such a quality product matched withquality service. Thanks again Steven
Hi AyUp Got the delivery this afternoon. Just installed everything and did a test ride. Everything works perfect. Cant wait for real exercise to morrow. Thx for excellent service I will recommend AuYp to everyone in my club 🙂 Regards, Frank Denmark
